DEPOSIT - please note that all deposits are non-refundable, except in the event of a homecheck fail. However, applicants must note that all answers given in the application form will be verified at the homecheck stage, so it is critical that all questions are answered honestly. In the event that there is a discrepancy between answers given on the application form and those given at homecheck, the deposit will be forfeited due to the time spent processing the application to homecheck stage. Once a dog has been reserved, the deposit is not transferrable to another dog.

For dogs of up to 1 year old, currently in Romania, we will allow them to be adopted (ie: you become the legal owner of the dog as soon as it arrives).
For dogs of over 1 year old, currently in Romania, they must be fostered first (ie: they live with you, but TRDR remains the legal owner of the dog. You will be required to complete "foster assessment forms" every 2 - 4 weeks to record the progress of the dog. At the point where TRDR deems the dog to be suitable for adoption, you will have the choice whether to adopt the dog or whether TRDR will find a permanent adoption home for it elsewhere). Depending on the dog, the fostering stage could last anything from 1 week to many months. If you foster a dog, but do not intend to adopt it, you must be prepared to foster it for as long as it takes for that dog to become ready to adopt.

We generally require direct access to a private, secure garden. This is because some dogs will not initially tolerate leads and harnesses, so if they do not have direct access from the home to a private, secure garden, they would be unable to go outside at all.
This does mean that if you are living in a flat, it is unlikely to be acceptable, unless it is a ground floor flat with a private garden. Having fields, woods or a park nearby is not always sufficient. Communal gardens are also not sufficient. However, we can sometimes make exceptions, depending on your circumstances and the specific dog.

Please note: in order to adopt or foster, you must have direct access from your property to a private, secure garden
